College of Community Innovation and Education Center for Community Schools:

The Center for Community Schools in the College of Community Innovation and Education at the University of Central Florida is a practice-based organization that provides community school technical assistance, university-assisted partnerships, training and development, and assessment and evaluation.

The Opportunity:

The UCF Center for Community Schools in the College of Community Innovation and Education is seeking a Program Manager I for the Unlimited Potential Initiative (UPI) Program. This position will work with the Research Associate and other UPI staff to effectively plan, develop, and implement systems for statewide technical assistance efforts in the development of community schools. The Program Manager will provide management and supervision for project operations and technical assistance delivery that facilitates the achievement of exceptional outcomes in improved student learning, stronger families and healthier communities.

This is a Contract and Grant (C&G) funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide management and coordination of day-to-day operations of UPI statewide technical assistance efforts.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and support for university partners' technical assistance needs.

  • Support the Research Associate in managing up-to-date monitoring of the UPI project to ensure ongoing strategic goals and objectives are being addressed and action steps are being implemented.

  • Develop and monitor systems for UPI staff and partners in the planning, development and implementation of community schools in Florida and beyond.

  • Supervise a team of project staff and interns.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of communication plans to ensure internal and external coordination and project cohesion.

  • Assist in development and implementation of strategic planning frameworks for project planning and success.

  • Stay up-to-date on community schools best practices, research and trends.

  • Translate and integrate best practices, research and trends for successful delivery of technical assistance and evaluation efforts.

  • Manage project tasks and provide technical assistance and training for effective development and implementation of community school programs, service delivery, and collaborative partnerships.

  • Plan and lead statewide technical assistance events for effective community school development.

  • Assist in the monitoring and achievement of US Department of Education accountability requirements and deliverables as outlined in the grant program.

  • Other duties as assigned to help advance the vision, mission, and goals of the project.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree preferred with 3-5 years of specific experience in community school development efforts, and technical assistance and training.

  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively both verbally and in writing.
