Summary: Responsible for virtual and classroom instruction for business intelligence, document management and COLD storage tools. A background in business intelligence consulting/training as well as the banking industry is highly desired. The candidate should also be well versed in Microsoft SQL Server technologies, familiar with iSeries DB2, and demonstrate a firm understanding of general PC and network troubleshooting skills.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Train new and existing customers in business intelligence technologies such as Cognos BI 8.4, Microsoft Analysis Services and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007.
- Train new and existing customers on document management and COLD storage systems.
- Develop and conduct classroom as well as virtual training curriculum.
- Develop new training material and recorded training sessions.
- Assist in creating new reports, analysis models, and queries.
- Engage customers as a consultant for billable projects
- Determines the scope, audience and goals of assigned training projects, and identifies subject matter for course content.
- Determines content, format and medium of training materials. Analyzes information and research on the subject matter. Designs and writes training materials (e.g., instructor guides, student guides, workbooks, CBTs, multi-media courseware) and standards (e.g., determines format, screen design and functionality) to be utilized.
- Assess the effectiveness of training programs.
- Prepares training materials for field use by utilizing appropriate packaging and distribution techniques.
- Troubleshoots client problems with self-study instructional materials and makes necessary adjustments for future use.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university in a related discipline
- 3-5 years professional experience with 2 years experience in training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3-5 years professional experience in the banking industry.
- Experience with Reportnet and Cognos 8 BI tools: Report Studio, Query Studio , Analysis Studio.
- Experience with Microsoft Office SharePoint Services, Analysis Services and Reporting Services is a plus.
- Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC).
- In-depth knowledge of up-to-date development tools, employee assessments, learning systems, and instructional and virtual technology including self study and training support, adult learning theory and training analysis.
- Experience / knowledge working with Relational Databases DB2, SQL server.
- Skill in planning and presenting training programs.
- Skill in instructional design and development, blended learning programs, and e-learning delivery is essential.
- Ability to assimilate technical information.
- Ability to conceptualize training solutions that meet management and user objectives.
- Ability to translate training needs and objectives into training content.
- Ability to design measurable goals for testing mastery of training subject matter and effectiveness of training materials.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients and public.
- Travel up to 50% will be required.
